Are you an experienced Child Protection Social Worker seeking a new challenge within a supportive local authority? Service Care Solutions is currently recruiting a dedicated Child Protection Social Worker for Wrexham County Borough Council. This is an excellent opportunity to join a committed Family Support Team on a short-term contract designed to provide stability and meaningful work.
About the Role
The Child Protection Social Worker will play a vital role within Wrexham’s Family Support Team, managing a diverse and complex caseload that includes Children in Need (CIN), Child Protection (CP), and Public Law Outline (PLO) cases. The role involves working closely with multi-agency partners to safeguard children and support families, with the potential for court proceedings when necessary.
Key Responsibilities of the Child Protection Social Worker:
- Hold and manage a caseload involving CIN, CP, and PLO cases
- Conduct thorough assessments, care planning, and reviews
- Prepare detailed reports and statements for court proceedings
- Carry out statutory visits to ensure the welfare of children
- Maintain compliance with legislation and statutory duties
- Collaborate with multi-agency teams to safeguard children and families
- Keep accurate, up-to-date case records
Candidate Requirements
- Qualified Social Worker (Social Work England registered)
- Significant experience in Child Protection and safeguarding
- Knowledge of court work and PLO processes is desirable
- Strong understanding of relevant legislation and statutory responsibilities
- Proven ability to handle a demanding caseload effectively
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
Contract Details
- Employment Type: Contract (2 weeks initially, with potential extension)
- Contract Length: 2 weeks
- Pay Rate: £38.43 per hour (Umbrella) / £28.70 per hour (PAYE)
- Hybrid working: minimum 3 days per week in the office
- Location: Wrexham
