This is an excellent opportunity to join a committed Family Support Team on a short-term contract designed to provide stability and meaningful work.

About the Role

The Child Protection Social Worker will play a vital role within Wrexham’s Family Support Team, managing a diverse and complex caseload that includes Children in Need (CIN), Child Protection (CP), and Public Law Outline (PLO) cases. The role involves working closely with multi-agency partners to safeguard children and support families, with the potential for court proceedings when necessary.

Key Responsibilities of the Child Protection Social Worker:

• Hold and manage a caseload involving CIN, CP, and PLO cases
• Conduct thorough assessments, care planning, and reviews
• Prepare detailed reports and statements for court proceedings
• Carry out statutory visits to ensure the welfare of children
• Maintain compliance with legislation and statutory duties
• Collaborate with multi-agency teams to safeguard children and families
• Keep accurate, up-to-date case records

Candidate Requirements

• Qualified Social Worker (Social Work England registered)
• Significant experience in Child Protection and safeguarding
• Knowledge of court work and PLO processes is desirable
• Strong understanding of relevant legislation and statutory responsibilities
• Proven ability to handle a demanding caseload effectively
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills

Contract Details

• Employment Type: Contract (2 weeks initially, with potential extension)
• Contract Length: 2 weeks
• Pay Rate: £38.43 per hour (Umbrella) / £28.70 per hour (PAYE)
• Hybrid working: minimum 3 days per week in the office
• Location: Wrexham
