About the Role Working in line with relevant legislation and established council policies, you will deliver high-quality social work support aimed at improving outcomes and promoting independence for children and families.
Key responsibilities include:
- Undertaking comprehensive assessments to identify risks, safeguarding concerns, and support needs
- Developing, coordinating, and reviewing effective multi-agency plans tailored to each child and family
- Managing a varied caseload, ensuring work is prioritised and completed to a high standard
- Identifying unmet needs and contributing to service development and resource planning
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records using the Integrated Children’s System (ICS)
- Collaborating closely with professionals across statutory, voluntary, and community sectors
- Participating in regular supervision, team meetings, and ongoing training opportunities
- Contributing to continuous service improvement initiatives
- Providing guidance and support to newly qualified or less experienced social workers
- Completing duty responsibilities on a rota basis (approximately once every 3 weeks)
- Qualified Social Worker with relevant registration
- Strong assessment and safeguarding experience within children’s services
- Ability to manage competing priorities within a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication and multi-agency working skills
- Commitment to high-quality, child-centred practice
