Team Manager – Children with Disabilities

Service Care Solutions are currently recruiting for an experienced Team Manager to join the Children with Disabilities Team at Manchester City Council.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced manager looking to lead a dedicated team delivering high-quality services to children and young people with disabilities and their families within a supportive local authority.

The Role
As Team Manager, you will be responsible for providing leadership, management and professional supervision to a team of social workers and practitioners. You will ensure statutory responsibilities are met while promoting positive outcomes for children with disabilities through effective partnership working and high-quality practice.
Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a Children with Disabilities social work team.
• Provide regular supervision, support and performance management to staff.
• Oversee complex casework and ensure statutory duties are completed to a high standard.
• Drive high-quality assessments, care planning and safeguarding practice.
• Work collaboratively with partner agencies to achieve positive outcomes for children and families.
• Ensure compliance with legislation, policies and local procedures.
• Support service development and continuous improvement within the team.

Requirements

• Qualified Social Worker registered with Social Work England.
• Significant post-qualified experience within Children's Services.
• Previous experience managing or supervising a statutory children's social work team.
• Strong knowledge of safeguarding legislation and Children with Disabilities practice.
• Excellent leadership, communication and decision-making skills.

Compliance Requirements
The successful candidate will be required to provide:

• Five years' employment references.
• Full employment history with any gaps explained.
• Relevant qualifications in line with the role requirements.
