Social Worker
You'll work proactively with children, young people and families requiring statutory intervention, using the Signs of Safety practice model to deliver high-quality, relationship-based social work.
Your focus will be on safeguarding children, implementing Child in Need and Child Protection Plans, completing robust assessments, and where necessary progressing cases through legal proceedings to achieve the best possible outcomes.

- Salary: £39,823 - £43,425
- £5,000 Market Premia paid in 12 equal monthly instalments
- £2,000 Annual Retention Payment paid each April after one year in post
- Salary: £43,426 - £47,434

- £3,000 Annual Retention Payment paid each April after one year in post
- Essential Car User Status

You'll work proactively with children, young people and families requiring statutory intervention, using the Signs of Safety practice model to deliver high-quality, relationship-based social work.
Your focus will be on safeguarding children, implementing Child in Need and Child Protection Plans, completing robust assessments, and where necessary progressing cases through legal proceedings to achieve the best possible outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a varied caseload with regular reflective supervision.
- Complete analytical assessments, SMART plans and reviews.
- Build positive relationships with children, young people and families.
- Undertake direct work with children to understand their lived experiences, wishes and feelings.
- Deliver interventions using the Signs of Safety framework.
- Prepare high-quality reports for Child Protection Conferences, Children in Need meetings, Looked After Children Reviews and court proceedings.
- Maintain accurate case records using electronic recording systems.
- Work collaboratively with partner agencies including Police, Education, Health and other safeguarding professionals.
- Keep up to date with legislation, research and best practice to maintain professional standards.
To be considered you must have:
- Qualified Social Worker status
- Registration with Social Work England
- Successful completion of ASYE plus at least 2 years' post-qualification experience working with children and families
- Experience within statutory children's social work
- Experience of Child Protection and Court Work
- Strong assessment and report writing skills
- Knowledge of relevant legislation and safeguarding practice
- Experience of Signs of Safety (or willingness to undertake training)
- A valid UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle
