Job Title: EDT Children's Advanced Practitioner

Are you a dedicated Social Worker looking to make a real difference in children’s lives? We are seeking an experienced EDT Children’s Advanced Practitioner for a vital 2-week contract within our Out of Hours Service. This role offers a unique opportunity to support vulnerable children and families during evening and night hours, ensuring safety and well-being outside of standard working hours.

Position: EDT Children's Advanced Practitioner (Contract – 2 Weeks)

Our Out of Hours Service operates on a two-week rota system, providing critical support outside of regular working hours. As an EDT Children’s Advanced Practitioner, you will play a key role in safeguarding children by offering expert intervention during evenings and weekends. This role is office-based until 22:00 in a warm, friendly environment, fostering a positive work atmosphere.

Candidate Responsibilities:

  • Respond to urgent safeguarding concerns involving children and families outside of normal hours.
  • Provide comprehensive assessments and advice in collaboration with multi-agency teams.
  • Support the day staff to ensure seamless transition and continuity of care.
  • Work on a 2-week rota system, with every other weekend off.
  • Contribute to shift planning, attend team meetings, and support junior staff members.
  • Maintain accurate case records and documentation adhering to policies and procedures.
  • Support relationship-building with colleagues and stakeholders to enhance service delivery.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Social Worker or relevant child protection role.
  • Strong knowledge of safeguarding policies, child welfare, and protection processes.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and within a team under pressure.
  • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends on a rota basis.
  • Valid Social Work qualification and HCPC registration.
