Job Overview
Service Care Solutions are recruiting permanent Families First Social Workers to join a Local Authority Families First service based at Trafford Town Hall. This is a stable, long-term opportunity for experienced practitioners who are committed to high-quality, relationship-based practice with children and families.
The Families First team supports children and families at an early stage, reducing risk and preventing escalation through effective assessment, intervention, and multi-agency working.

Key Responsibilities

• Undertake assessments with children and families in line with statutory duties
• Work with families to identify strengths, risks, and support needs
• Develop and review child-focused plans to promote positive outcomes
• Carry out direct work with children, young people, and families
• Support families through early intervention and preventative services
• Work collaboratively with partner agencies including Health, Education, and Early Help
• Safeguard children at risk in line with legislation and local procedures
• Maintain accurate, timely, and high-quality case records
• Participate in supervision, team meetings, and professional development

Essential Requirements

• Qualified Social Worker
• Registered with Social Work England
• Minimum of 3 years’ post-qualified experience working permanently within a Local Authority
• Experience working in Children and Families or Early Help services
• Sound knowledge of relevant legislation and statutory guidance
• Strong assessment, communication, and decision-making skills
• Ability to manage a caseload effectively and work within a multi-agency environment
• Enhanced DBS
