Job Overview
Service Care Solutions are recruiting permanent Families First Social Workers to join a Local Authority Families First service based at Trafford Town Hall. This is a stable, long-term opportunity for experienced practitioners who are committed to high-quality, relationship-based practice with children and families.
The Families First team supports children and families at an early stage, reducing risk and preventing escalation through effective assessment, intervention, and multi-agency working.

This is a stable, long-term opportunity for experienced practitioners who are committed to high-quality, relationship-based practice with children and families.
The Families First team supports children and families at an early stage, reducing risk and preventing escalation through effective assessment, intervention, and multi-agency working.
Key Responsibilities
- Undertake assessments with children and families in line with statutory duties
- Work with families to identify strengths, risks, and support needs
- Develop and review child-focused plans to promote positive outcomes
- Carry out direct work with children, young people, and families
- Support families through early intervention and preventative services
- Work collaboratively with partner agencies including Health, Education, and Early Help
- Safeguard children at risk in line with legislation and local procedures
- Maintain accurate, timely, and high-quality case records
- Participate in supervision, team meetings, and professional development
- Qualified Social Worker
- Registered with Social Work England
- Minimum of 3 years’ post-qualified experience working permanently within a Local Authority
- Experience working in Children and Families or Early Help services
- Sound knowledge of relevant legislation and statutory guidance
- Strong assessment, communication, and decision-making skills
- Ability to manage a caseload effectively and work within a multi-agency environment
- Enhanced DBS
