Female Support Worker

We are looking for dedicated and compassionate Female Support Workers to join our friendly team, supporting four ladies within their own home.

This is a rewarding opportunity for experienced Support Workers who are passionate about providing person-centred support and helping individuals live happy, fulfilling and as independent lives as possible.

📍 Location: Cumbria – Aspatria
💷 Pay: £14.24–£18.04 per hour PAYE, inclusive of holiday pay
📋 Contract: Agency Ad Hoc
🕐 Shifts: Long days & sleep-ins
🚀 Start Date: ASAP

Shift Pattern: The service primarily requires sleep-in cover, alongside long-day shifts.
Long Day: 08:00 – 19:30
Sleep-In: 23:00 – 07:00
Morning Support & Handover: 07:00 – 08:00

There are opportunities for flexible agency shifts, with sleep-ins being the main requirement.

About the Service
You will support four ladies within their own home, each with their own individual needs and personalities.

The individuals we support have a range of needs, including:

• Mild to severe learning disabilities
• Autism
• Behaviours that may challenge
• Epilepsy
• Complex health and support needs

Two ladies require full support with personal care and moving and handling, while two ladies have epilepsy.

Your Role
Your responsibilities will include:

• Providing person-centred care and support
• Supporting with personal care and daily living activities
• Assisting with moving and handling
• Supporting with medication
• Supporting individuals with epilepsy and seizure management
• Encouraging independence, choice and community engagement
• Promoting dignity, respect and inclusion
• Building positive relationships with the individuals you support
• Maintaining a safe and supportive home environment

The service is located in a rural area, with a bus route available at the end of the street.

Essential:

• Minimum 12 months' UK care/support experience
• Previous experience in a care or support setting
• Caring, patient and reliable approach
• Ability to remain calm and professional under pressure
• Flexibility to work long days and sleep-ins
• Full Right to Work in the UK – no sponsorship available

Desirable:

• Learning disability experience
• Autism experience
• Experience supporting behaviours that may challenge
• Epilepsy and seizure awareness
• Buccal Midazolam
• Medication administration
• Moving and handling
• Lone working
