We are currently recruiting Healthcare Assistants for ongoing flexible ad hoc shifts within a specialist mental health inpatient setting in Clacton-on-Sea.
There are plenty of day and night shifts available, providing an excellent opportunity for a HCA looking for flexible work that can fit around existing commitments.
Location: Clacton-on-Sea, Essex
Shifts: 07:30–20:00 | 20:00–07:30 (1-hour unpaid break)
Pay: £14.24–£15.00 per hour PAYE (inclusive of holiday pay)
The service provides both acute inpatient care and specialist rehabilitation for women aged 18+, supporting individuals with a range of complex mental health needs.
The acute wards support individuals experiencing periods of crisis or acute phases of mental illness, including:

As a Healthcare Assistant, you will work as part of a multidisciplinary team, providing high-quality, person-centred care and support to service users.

The Role
As a Healthcare Assistant, you will work as part of a multidisciplinary team, providing high-quality, person-centred care and support to service users.
Duties may include:
- Providing compassionate care and support to service users
- Supporting individuals with their daily living needs
- Maintaining a safe and therapeutic environment
- Observing and reporting changes in presentation or behaviour
- Supporting activities and recovery-focused interventions
- Working alongside nursing and wider clinical teams
- Following individual care plans and safeguarding procedures
- Maintaining accurate and timely records
- Ongoing ad hoc shifts
- Flexible working

- Previous experience working as a Healthcare Assistant / Support Worker
- Experience within mental health or a similar care environment is highly desirable
- Ability to work confidently with individuals with complex needs
