We are seeking a highly skilled Mou Children’s Senior Social Worker (Social Care Qualified) for a 3 month contract to join our innovative Children in Care service. This is an excellent opportunity to make a real difference within a dynamic team committed to empowering young people as they transition into adulthood.

Position Overview: Mou Children’s Senior Social Worker (Social Care Qualified)

As a Mou Children’s Senior Social Worker, you will play a crucial role in supporting young people aged 16–17 through their journey towards independence. Based in Pity Me, next to the Arnison Centre, you will be part of the Next Steps Team, which focuses on purposeful pathways, timely moves, and meaningful participation. The role is suitable for a qualified social worker with experience in social care and a strong passion for youth support.

Key Responsibilities of the Mou Children’s Senior Social Worker

  • Manage a manageable caseload of young people aged 16–17
  • Lead on pathway planning to help young people understand their journey and shape their future goals
  • Support young people through key transitions, including moves from residential care into supported accommodation and the transition from 17 to 18
  • Coordinate with residential homes, supported accommodation providers, and partner agencies to ensure smooth planning
  • Contribute to safety planning in collaboration with young people that promotes supported independence
  • Build trusted, consistent relationships that provide stability, emotional security, and belonging
  • Engage in reflective practice sessions, development days, and group supervision
  • Use quality assurance tools to support timely planning and achieve strong outcomes
  • Promote participation, ensuring young people's feedback shapes service development and practice
