MOU Children’s Senior Social Worker (Social Care Qualified) – Contract (2 Weeks)
Are you an experienced Children’s Senior Social Worker seeking a short-term contract opportunity? Our local authority based in Seaham, Durham, is looking for two dedicated MOU Children’s Senior Social Workers (Social Care Qualified) to cover maternity leave within our Children in Care Service for approximately 2 weeks. About the Role: MOU Children’s Senior Social Worker (Social Care Qualified)
As a MOU Children’s Senior Social Worker, you will provide vital support to vulnerable children aged 0 to 18 in our Children in Care service. Your primary focus will be on supporting care plans, assisting children with their transition into adulthood, and developing potential rehabilitation plans in collaboration with families. Working within an Ofsted-rated OUTSTANDING local authority, you will contribute to maintaining our high standards of care and safeguarding.
Candidate Responsibilities for MOU Children’s Senior Social Worker (Social Care Qualified)
- Manage a caseload of children in care, ensuring statutory duties are met with professionalism and efficiency
- Support and develop care plans tailored to each child's needs
- Collaborate with families, health professionals, and external agencies to promote the child's best interests
- Assist in the transition process for children moving into adulthood, ensuring a smooth support pathway
- Attend duty rotas and team meetings, with an expectation to be office-based 1-2 days per week
- Maintain accurate and timely case records in line with local authority policies
- Uphold safeguarding standards and promote the well-being of children in care
Candidate Requirements for MOU Children’s Senior Social Worker (Social Care Qualified)
- Qualified Social Worker (Social Care Qualified) with relevant registration
- Proven experience working within Children in Care services
- Knowledge of statutory duties and legal frameworks surrounding children in care
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Flexibility to adapt to short-term contract requirements
- Comfortable working both remotely and in an office environment in Seaham, Durham
