Senior Social Worker - Children's Social Care (MOU)

Are you an experienced Social Worker with a passion for working with children and families? We are currently seeking a dedicated Senior Social Worker to join our Children's Social Care team on a contract basis for an initial duration of 2 weeks. About the Role: Senior Social Worker - Children's Social Care (MOU)

The successful Senior Social Worker - Children's Social Care will be responsible for covering all aspects of a Supervising Social Worker within a fostering team. This role involves undertaking assessments of prospective foster carers, participating in recruitment events, and supporting foster families. The position is to cover maternity leave in one capacity and sickness in another, offering versatile experience within the social care sector.

Key Responsibilities of the Senior Social Worker - Children's Social Care

  • Conduct thorough assessments of prospective foster carers
  • Support and supervise foster families to ensure their needs are met
  • Attend recruitment events to promote fostering services
  • Engage in multi-agency work to safeguard children's welfare
  • Occasionally work evenings or weekends as needed to facilitate assessments and recruitment activities
  • Maintain comprehensive case documentation in line with organizational policies
  • Contribute to team meetings and case reviews, providing expert advice as a Senior Social Worker

Candidate Skills & Experience

  • Qualified Social Worker with relevant social care registration (Social Worker)
  • Experience working with vulnerable children and foster care systems
  • Strong assessment and report-writing skills
  • Excellent communication and team collaboration abilities
  • Willingness to undertake flexible working hours, including some evenings and weekends
