Locum Occupational Therapist – Blackburn with Darwen Council

Service Care Solutions are currently recruiting for a Locum Occupational Therapist to join Blackburn with Darwen Council.

This is a temporary contract for 3 months (with a view to extend), offering:

• £30 per hour (Umbrella)
• £23.60 per hour (PAYE)

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Occupational Therapist to deliver community-based assessments and interventions, supporting individuals to maintain their independence and wellbeing.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct community-based assessments within a local authority setting
• Identify needs and recommend both standard and specialist equipment
• Plan and facilitate minor and major adaptations to improve safety and accessibility in clients’ homes
• Work collaboratively with service users, families, and multidisciplinary teams
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in line with professional and legal standards

Requirements:

• HCPC registration and relevant Occupational Therapy qualification
• Previous experience working in a local authority setting
• Experience completing manual handling assessments
• Strong knowledge of equipment provision and home adaptations
• Excellent communication and organisational skills
