Occupational Therapist – Blue Badge Team Location: Manchester (Local Authority)
Rate: £32 per hour Umbrella
Contract: 3-Month Ongoing Contract
Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00am – 5:00pm

Service Care Solutions are recruiting for an experienced Occupational Therapist to join a Local Authority Blue Badge Team in Manchester.

The successful candidate will undertake mobility and functional assessments for Blue Badge applicants, reviewing medical evidence and determining eligibility in line with Department for Transport guidance and local authority procedures.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out mobility and functional assessments for Blue Badge applications.
• Review medical records and supporting evidence.
• Produce clear, evidence-based assessment reports and recommendations.
• Communicate outcomes professionally and sensitively to applicants.
• Maintain accurate records and case notes.
• Work closely with council departments and healthcare professionals.
• Ensure assessments comply with relevant legislation and guidance.

Requirements

• Degree or Diploma in Occupational Therapy.
• Current HCPC registration.
• Previous Occupational Therapy experience within the NHS, community, rehabilitation, or local authority settings.
• Strong assessment, report-writing, and decision-making skills.
• Ability to manage a caseload independently.

Desirable

• Previous Blue Badge assessment experience.
• Knowledge of Department for Transport Blue Badge guidance.
• Local Authority experience.
