Occupational Therapist – Rehousing Team
Location: Manchester
Rate: £35 per hour Umbrella/£30.79 PAYE
Contract: Ongoing Contract
Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00am – 5:00pm

Service Care Solutions are recruiting for an experienced Occupational Therapist to join a Local Authority Rehousing Team in Manchester.

This is an excellent opportunity to support residents with disabilities, long-term health conditions, and complex needs by carrying out housing and functional assessments and providing recommendations to support rehousing applications.

Key Responsibilities

• Undertake functional and housing needs assessments.
• Assess how disabilities and health conditions impact an individual's ability to live safely and independently within their home.
• Provide professional recommendations to support rehousing decisions.
• Complete detailed assessment reports and maintain accurate records.
• Work collaboratively with housing teams, social workers, and healthcare professionals.
• Support residents in accessing suitable accommodation that meets their assessed needs.
• Ensure practice complies with relevant legislation, guidance, and local authority policies.

Requirements

• Degree or Diploma in Occupational Therapy.
• Current HCPC registration.
• Previous experience within community, housing, social care, or local authority services.
• Strong assessment, report-writing, and case management skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage a varied caseload.

Desirable

• Previous experience within a Rehousing, Adaptations, or Housing OT service.
• Knowledge of housing legislation and disabled adaptations.
• Local Authority experience.
