Occupational Therapist – Children & Young People Disability Team (Contract)

Service Care Solutions is currently recruiting a confident and compassionate Occupational Therapist to join a Children and Young People Disability Team in Medway on a 2-week contract. Position: Occupational Therapist
Location: Medway
Contract Duration: 2 weeks
Salary: £39,823 – £43,425 per annum (pro-rated for the length of the contract)
Hours: Monday to Friday
Requirement: Must be a driver with access to a vehicle


Key Responsibilities of the Occupational Therapist

As an Occupational Therapist, your responsibilities will include:

  • Delivering effective, child-centred Occupational Therapy interventions tailored to each young person's needs.
  • Conducting comprehensive OT assessments and applying clinical reasoning to develop appropriate care plans.
  • Recommending and implementing equipment, enablement techniques, and adaptations to facilitate independence.
  • Promoting safety and independence within the home and community environments.
  • Collaborating with internal teams and external partners to enhance service user outcomes.
  • Maintaining accurate, detailed records in compliance with professional standards and safeguarding policies.
  • Advocating for service improvements and supporting flexible working practices.

Candidate Requirements for the Occupational Therapist

The successful candidate will possess:

  • A relevant Occupational Therapy qualification.
  • HCPC registration as an Occupational Therapist.
  • Experience working with children and/or within a disability setting (desirable).
  • Full UK driving licence and access to own vehicle.
  • Excellent communication skills with various stakeholders.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage deadlines.
  • Flexible and adaptable attitude, willing to embrace new approaches.
  • Ability to assess risk and adjust practice accordingly.
