Occupational Therapist – Learning Disabilities & Mental Health Team

Are you an experienced Occupational Therapist looking for a rewarding opportunity within a local authority setting? Service Care Solutions is currently seeking a dedicated Occupational Therapist to join a Learning Disabilities and Mental Health Team in Huddersfield. Occupational Therapist – Learning Disabilities & Mental Health Team

This contract position as an Occupational Therapist offers flexible, ongoing work within a supportive environment, where you will have the chance to make a tangible difference in clients' lives. The role involves working closely with multidisciplinary teams, families, and external agencies to deliver person-centred care tailored to individual needs.

Candidate Responsibilities as an Occupational Therapist

  • Conduct specialist Occupational Therapy assessments for adults with learning disabilities and mental health needs.
  • Develop and implement bespoke intervention plans focusing on independence and overall wellbeing.
  • Support clients with neurodiversity and emotional dysregulation by identifying and applying effective strategies to improve daily functioning.
  • Complete comprehensive risk assessments and recommend appropriate equipment, adaptations, or environmental modifications.
  • Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams, carers, and families to ensure positive client outcomes.

Candidate Qualifications for the Occupational Therapist Role

  • Degree or Diploma in Occupational Therapy.
  • HCPC registration.
  • Prior experience working in Learning Disabilities, Mental Health, or Community Adult Services.
  • Knowledge of neurodiversity and trauma-informed care approaches is advantageous.
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle are preferred.
