Occupational Therapist – Blue Badge Team
Contract | Manchester | £32 per hour (Umbrella) | 3-Month Ongoing Contract

Are you an experienced Occupational Therapist looking to make a meaningful impact within local government services? Service Care Solutions are currently seeking a dedicated Occupational Therapist to join the Blue Badge Team in Manchester on a 2-week contract. This is an excellent opportunity to apply your expertise in mobility and functional assessments, working closely with local authority departments to support individuals applying for Blue Badges.

Occupational Therapist – Blue Badge Team Responsibilities
As an Occupational Therapist in this role, your key responsibilities will include:

• Carrying out mobility and functional assessments for Blue Badge applicants
• Reviewing medical records and supporting evidence to determine eligibility
• Producing clear, evidence-based assessment reports and recommendations
• Communicating assessment outcomes professionally and sensitively to applicants
• Maintaining accurate records and case notes
• Collaborating with council departments and healthcare professionals
• Ensuring all assessments comply with applicable legislation and guidance, including Department for Transport protocols

Candidate Requirements for the Occupational Therapist – Blue Badge Team Role
The ideal candidate will possess:

• Degree or Diploma in Occupational Therapy
• Current HCPC registration
• Prior experience in NHS, community, rehabilitation, or local authority settings
• Strong assessment, report-writing, and decision-making skills
• Ability to manage a caseload independently

Desirable Skills

• Previous Blue Badge assessment experience
• Knowledge of Department for Transport Blue Badge guidance
• Local Authority experience

Salary & Contract Details

• Pay Rate: £32 per hour (Umbrella)
• Contract Length: 2 weeks, with potential extensions
• Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00am – 5:00pm
