Bradford Metropolitan District Council is seeking a dedicated Fostering Social Worker to join our Fostering Service. This is a rewarding opportunity to play a key role in ensuring children and young people are placed in safe, stable, and nurturing foster homes where they can thrive.
About the Role
As a Fostering Social Worker, you will work as part of a supportive and committed fostering team, responsible for recruiting, assessing, training, and supporting foster carers across Bradford.
You will play a vital role in ensuring that foster carers are well prepared and supported to meet the needs of children and young people, helping to build placement stability and long-term positive outcomes.
This is a dynamic and varied role that combines assessment, supervision, support, and partnership working with a strong focus on achieving permanence and improving the lived experience of children in care.

- Undertaking comprehensive Form F assessments of prospective foster carers
- Providing ongoing supervision, support, and guidance to approved foster carers
- Supporting foster carer development through training and learning opportunities
- Contributing to matching children with appropriate foster placements
- Ensuring fostering households meet required standards and regulations
- Working closely with childrenās social workers, IROs, and partner agencies
- Promoting placement stability and positive outcomes for children in foster care
- Maintaining accurate and timely case recordings in line with statutory requirements
We are looking for a Social Worker who is:
- Qualified and registered with Social Work England
- Experienced within Childrenās Social Care, ideally fostering, safeguarding, or looked after children services
- Confident in undertaking assessments and managing complex casework
- Skilled in building strong, trusting relationships with foster carers and families
- Passionate about improving outcomes for children and young people
- Able to work collaboratively within a supportive team environment
- Committed to high-quality, child-centred practice
