Service Care Solutions are recruiting on behalf of Tameside Metropolitan Borough Council for an experienced and motivated Assistant Team Manager to join their Mental Health Team on a permanent basis.

Key ResponsibilitiesAs Assistant Team Manager, you will:
- Support the Service Unit Manager and Team Manager in the organisation, management and supervision of social care services.
- Assist in the leadership and operational management of the Mental Health Team.
- Ensure services are delivered in accordance with relevant legislation, regulations, guidance, standards and local procedures.
- Contribute to strategic planning, service development and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Monitor performance and implement improvements based on service user feedback, stakeholder input and performance data.
- Support staff development through supervision, mentoring and practice guidance.
- Promote effective resource management and high-quality service delivery.
- Foster positive working relationships across partner agencies and stakeholders.
- Level 6 Social Work Degree (or equivalent recognised Social Work qualification).
- Social Work England registration.
- Substantial experience within adult mental health social care services.
- Significant knowledge and experience of:
- Mental Health legislation and practice
- Care Act responsibilities
- Funding processes
- Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards (DoLS)
- Experience of staff supervision and/or practice supervision.
- Experience working within multi-disciplinary environments.
- Understanding of legislation and statutory requirements relevant to adult social care and mental health services.
- Knowledge of management and HR procedures.
- Experience of risk assessment and health & safety practices.
- Commitment to anti-discriminatory and inclusive practice.
- Strong ICT skills and ability to manage information effectively.
- Ability to respond constructively to performance issues and support staff development.
- Excellent communication, leadership and relationship-building skills.
- Qualified and warranted AMHPs will receive an additional £82 per AMHP shift worked, with an average of 25-30 shifts per year.
- Candidates who are not currently AMHP qualified will be supported and encouraged to undertake AMHP training following a period in post.
- Monday: 8:30am – 5:00pm
- Tuesday: 8:30am – 5:00pm
- Wednesday: 8:30am – 5:00pm
- Thursday: 8:30am – 4:30pm
- Friday: 8:30am – 4:00pm
