Placement Co-Ordination Social Worker – Bradford (2-Week Contract)

We are seeking a Placement Co-Ordination Social Worker to join Bradford’s busy Placement Coordination Service on a 2-week contract. This is an excellent chance to contribute to a vital area of social care, ensuring children find safe, secure, and suitable placements.

About the Role:

The Placement Co-Ordination Social Worker will work under the guidance, support, and supervision of the Team Manager and Service Manager. Your primary responsibility will be to identify and secure quality placements for children referred into the service. You will play a key role in maintaining strong relationships with external providers, internal social work teams, and commissioning colleagues, all dedicated to ensuring children are safely and appropriately placed.

Key Responsibilities of the Placement Co-Ordination Social Worker:

• Assess placement options to meet children’s needs
• Build and sustain strong relationships with placement providers and internal teams
• Ensure placements are safe, suitable, and affordable
• Collaborate closely with social work teams and the commissioning unit
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of placement options and decisions
• Contribute to the team’s objectives of providing high-quality, safe placements for children

Candidate Requirements:

• Qualified Social Worker with an active social work registration
• Experience in placement coordination, social care, or related fields
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
• Ability to work effectively within a busy, demand-led service
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail

Salary/Pay Rate:

• £38,220 - £46,142 per annum (pro-rata for the contracted duration)
• £3,000 Retention Payment
