Senior Occupational Therapist – Royal Borough of our client & our client
Service Care Solutions are recruiting on behalf of our client for a Senior Occupational Therapist to join the Royal Borough of our client & our client Council.
Location: Royal Borough of our client & our client
Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00am – 5:00pm
Rate: £38 per hour (Umbrella) / £29.80 per hour (PAYE)
Contract: 3-month ongoing contract
Job Role
You will deliver a high-quality Occupational Therapy / Reablement Service, managing a caseload that includes a higher proportion of complex, high-risk, and contentious cases.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver professional Occupational Therapy services in line with local authority policies, national legislation, and the Royal College of Occupational Therapy (RCOT) 4 Pillars
- Undertake complex, strength-based and person-centred assessments in collaboration with service users, carers, and multidisciplinary teams
Complete:
- Functional assessments
- Manual handling risk assessments
- Postural and seating assessments
- Environmental assessments
- Safeguarding enquiries
Recommend and provide equipment and adaptations to:

Maximise independence

Improve quality of life for service users and carers

Develop and monitor SMART goals to support outcome-focused interventions
Facilitate:
- Hospital discharge planning
- Step-down and reablement pathways
- Community-based interventions
Work collaboratively across health and social care services to:

Prevent hospital admissions

Enable safe and timely discharges
-
Support individuals transitioning back to independent living

Assess and support individuals with long-term conditions, recommending specialist equipment and adaptations where required
About the Role
This is an excellent opportunity to provide an outcome-focused Occupational Therapy service to adults with physical disabilities and age-related needs. You will work as part of a multidisciplinary team to deliver person-centred care, promoting independence and recovery.
Requirements
- Qualified Occupational Therapist with HCPC registration
- Experience managing complex caseloads within social care/community settings
- Strong knowledge of manual handling, equipment provision, and housing adaptations
- Ability to work collaboratively across agencies
