Senior Residential Support Worker

Are you an experienced residential childcare professional looking to take your career to the next level? Service Care Solutions is seeking a dedicated Senior Residential Support Worker to join a well-established provider supporting children and young people within two Ofsted-rated Good children's homes located in Newark-on-Trent, Nottinghamshire. This is a full-time, permanent position offering a competitive salary of £31,259 - £36,044 per annum (£15.03 per hour).

About the Role – Senior Residential Support Worker

As a Senior Residential Support Worker, you will play a pivotal role in providing high-quality care, guidance, and support to children and young people. You will oversee shifts, support Residential Support Workers, and act as a positive role model, fostering a safe and nurturing environment. Your efforts will contribute to helping young people develop essential life skills and achieve positive outcomes.

Key Responsibilities of the Senior Residential Support Worker include:

  • Supervising shifts and supporting Residential Support Workers
  • Acting as a positive role model for young people
  • Supporting children and young people to develop life skills and independence
  • Encouraging engagement with education, personal development, and activities
  • Monitoring and managing behaviours positively and proactively
  • Maintaining accurate records and documentation
  • Creating and delivering engaging activities
  • Supporting staff development and performance
  • Working in line with safeguarding, regulatory, and legislative requirements

Shift Pattern – Senior Residential Support Worker

The role involves double sleep-in shifts from 7:30am to 10:30pm, followed by a sleep-in, on a 3-week rolling rota. The schedule includes working one Saturday, one Sunday, and having one weekend off within each cycle.

Candidate Requirements – Senior Residential Support Worker

  • Minimum 12 months' experience in residential childcare
  • Full UK Driving Licence
  • Level 3 qualification in Residential Childcare (or equivalent)
  • Ability to lead shifts and support staff effectively
  • Strong understanding of safeguarding and children’s residential care standards
  • Applicants must be aged 21 or over
