Senior Social Worker – Child Protection Team (Wakefield)
Service Care Solutions are currently recruiting on behalf of our client, a Local Authority in Wakefield, for an experienced Senior Social Worker to join their Child Protection (CP/Court) Team.
This is a great opportunity for a candidate with strong, up-to-date Child Protection experience who is confident working in a fast-paced environment.

Contract Initial 3-month ongoing contract
Pay Rates
We also offer a £200 referral bonus for any successfully placed candidates and a £150 sign-up bonus for new candidates.

Pay Rates
- £35 per hour Umbrella
- £30.79 per hour PAYE (inclusive)
- £27.48 per hour PAYE (exclusive)
- Manage a caseload including complex and statutory work
- Undertake assessments, planning, and reviews for:
- Children in Need
- Children subject to Child Protection plans
- Looked After Children
- Work in line with the Signs of Safety model and a child-focused approach
- Build and maintain effective, restorative relationships with children, young people, families, and carers
- Support families to make informed decisions and contribute to care planning
- Analyse information to assess and respond to ongoing risk and need
- Work directly with children and young people to ensure their views inform all assessments and interventions
- Work collaboratively with multi-agency partners to support safeguarding and care planning
- Maintain accurate, up-to-date case records using appropriate systems
- Plan and coordinate interventions in line with delegated authority
- Use strong communication, empathy, and negotiation skills to achieve positive outcomes
- Qualified Social Worker
- Current and recent Child Protection experience
- Experience working within CP/Court proceedings
- Ability to manage a fast-paced and demanding caseload
- Strong assessment, analytical, and communication skills
