Are you an experienced Senior Social Worker (Children's) looking to make a meaningful difference within a dedicated team? We are seeking a committed professional to join the Complex Care Needs Team in our client on a contract basis for a two-week assignment, with the possibility of extension. This is your chance to work in a dynamic environment supporting children and young people with complex health needs and disabilities.

About the Role: Senior Social Worker (Children's) - Yorkshire Collaboration

As a Senior Social Worker (Children's), your primary responsibility will be managing a diverse caseload involving Child in Need (CIN), Child Protection (CP), and Children in Care (CIC). You will work closely with multidisciplinary teams, including the Short Breaks Team, to ensure children’s safety and well-being. This role offers a unique opportunity to operate in a supportive and flexible environment, contributing to positive outcomes for vulnerable children and families during a period of team restructuring and service reform.

Candidate Responsibilities for the Senior Social Worker (Children's) Role

  • Manage a caseload of children and young people with disabilities, typically around 20–25 cases, balancing high-quality statutory work with lower-frequency visits.
  • Complete statutory assessments, reviews, and safeguarding procedures efficiently and thoroughly.
  • Develop and sustain effective relationships with children, young people, and their families.
  • Ensure all visits, reports, and documentation are completed accurately and on time.
  • Contribute to team duty functions, supporting service delivery and safeguarding protocols.
  • Participate in team meetings and maintain ongoing communication with colleagues.
  • Adapt to changing team structures during the current period of transition.

Benefits of the Senior Social Worker (Children's) Role

  • £250 Training Allowance to support your professional development.
  • Access to a Dedicated Specialist Consultant for ongoing guidance.
  • Opportunity to work with thousands of clients nationwide through the agency's extensive network.
  • Daily Payroll Runs ensuring timely payments.
  • Free candidate Registrations and comprehensive Compliance Checks.
  • Schemes including Referral and Loyalty Bonuses and Sign-Up Bonuses for your commitment.

Ideal Candidate for the Senior Social Worker (Children's) Position

  • Experience working with children and young people, particularly with complex needs (disability experience advantageous but not essential).
  • Strong statutory social work skills and a deep understanding of safeguarding procedures.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to engage effectively with children and families.
  • Passionate, proactive, and adaptable with a collaborative approach.
  • Willingness to work on Fridays and adopt a hybrid working pattern (office-based and remote).
