Job Title: Social Worker – Looked After Children Team
Agency: Service Care Solutions
Contract: 3-month contract, ongoing

Working Pattern:

• Office based: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday
• Remote working: Wednesday and Friday

Pay Rate:

• £38.43 per hour umbrella
• £30.50 PAYE

Job Overview
Service Care Solutions are recruiting an experienced Social Worker to join a Looked After Children (LAC) Team within a Local Authority. This role focuses on supporting children and young people who are in the care of the local authority, ensuring their safety, stability, and long-term outcomes through effective care planning and relationship-based practice.
The team offers a hybrid working arrangement with set office and home-working days.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of Looked After Children
• Complete statutory visits and ensure children’s needs are met
• Develop, implement, and review care plans and permanence plans
• Prepare reports for reviews, meetings, and court where required
• Attend Looked After Reviews and professionals meetings
• Work closely with children, carers, families, and partner agencies
• Ensure safeguarding responsibilities are met at all times
• Promote positive outcomes in education, health, and emotional wellbeing
• Maintain accurate, timely, and high-quality case records
• Work in line with the Children Act 1989 and 2004 and relevant statutory guidance

Essential Requirements

• Qualified Social Worker
• Registered with Social Work England
• Recent experience working within a Looked After Children team
• Sound knowledge of legislation and statutory guidance relating to LAC
• Strong assessment, planning, and decision-making skills
• Ability to work effectively within a multi-agency environment
• Enhanced DBS (Update Service desirable)
