Working Pattern:
Service Care Solutions are recruiting an experienced Social Worker to join a Looked After Children (LAC) Team within a Local Authority. This role focuses on supporting children and young people who are in the care of the local authority, ensuring their safety, stability, and long-term outcomes through effective care planning and relationship-based practice.
The team offers a hybrid working arrangement with set office and home-working days.

- Office based: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday
- Remote working: Wednesday and Friday
- £38.43 per hour umbrella
- £30.50 PAYE
Service Care Solutions are recruiting an experienced Social Worker to join a Looked After Children (LAC) Team within a Local Authority. This role focuses on supporting children and young people who are in the care of the local authority, ensuring their safety, stability, and long-term outcomes through effective care planning and relationship-based practice.
The team offers a hybrid working arrangement with set office and home-working days.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a caseload of Looked After Children
- Complete statutory visits and ensure children’s needs are met
- Develop, implement, and review care plans and permanence plans
- Prepare reports for reviews, meetings, and court where required
- Attend Looked After Reviews and professionals meetings
- Work closely with children, carers, families, and partner agencies
- Ensure safeguarding responsibilities are met at all times
- Promote positive outcomes in education, health, and emotional wellbeing
- Maintain accurate, timely, and high-quality case records
- Work in line with the Children Act 1989 and 2004 and relevant statutory guidance
- Qualified Social Worker
- Registered with Social Work England
- Recent experience working within a Looked After Children team
- Sound knowledge of legislation and statutory guidance relating to LAC
- Strong assessment, planning, and decision-making skills
- Ability to work effectively within a multi-agency environment
- Enhanced DBS (Update Service desirable)
