Social Worker (Bcft Dfe) – Contract Role in Bradford
Are you a dedicated Social Worker passionate about making a positive impact in the lives of children and young people? We are seeking a talented Social Worker (Bcft Dfe) to join our committed team in Bradford. This is an exciting opportunity to work within Bradford Children and Families Trust, contributing to a newly restructured Children in Care service that spans ages 0–18, with the aim of providing better continuity and improved outcomes for children in care.
About the Role: Social Worker (Bcft Dfe)
As a Social Worker (Bcft Dfe), you will be at the forefront of delivering critical services to children and young people in care. Your responsibilities will include executing your corporate parenting duties, working towards permanence for children as soon as possible, and ensuring that each child receives appropriate support tailored to their individual needs, including care, education, and health. The role offers a unique chance to be part of a forward-thinking team that values the well-being and future of young lives. The position is based at Sir Henry Mitchell House, Bradford, working three days per week.
Candidate Responsibilities for the Social Worker (Bcft Dfe):
- Manage and oversee a caseload of children in care, ensuring statutory requirements are met.
- Develop and implement care plans aligned with each child's needs, promoting stability and permanency.
- Build positive relationships with children, foster carers, and families.
- Collaborate with partner agencies to provide holistic support to children and young people.
- Keep accurate, timely records and write detailed reports on case progress.
- Attend regular team meetings and contribute to service improvement initiatives.
- Uphold statutory guidance and best practices in child safeguarding and welfare.
- Promote the corporate parenting responsibilities of the Bradford Children and Families Trust.
- Support young people transitioning from care to independence, where appropriate.
Candidate Requirements:
- Social Work qualification and registration with Social Work England.
- Experience working with children in care and their families.
- Strong knowledge of current legislation and policies relating to children in care.
- Excellent communication, organisational, and safeguarding skills.
- Ability to work effectively within a team and independently.
