The City of Doncaster Council is seeking a committed Social Worker - Children's to join their central team on a temporary contract. The Social Worker - Children's role offers a 2-week contract with potential for further discussions based on current needs.


About the Role: Social Worker - Children's

The Social Worker - Children's will be responsible for delivering high-quality social work services to children and families in need. Working within the central team in Doncaster, the successful candidate will handle cases with professionalism, compassion, and adherence to statutory guidelines. The core responsibilities include:

  • Conducting assessments for children and families to identify needs and risks
  • Developing and reviewing child protection plans
  • Maintaining accurate case records and documentation
  • Collaborating with multi-agency teams to ensure the best outcomes for children
  • Attending team meetings and court proceedings as required
  • Providing support and guidance to children and their families throughout the intervention process
  • Ensuring compliance with all legal and organisational policies

This is a 30-hour per week position, with working days and times to be discussed during the interview. The role is for maternity cover expected to run until November, with 12-week review periods to assess progress and potential extension.


Candidate Responsibilities

  • Carry out thorough assessments and risk evaluations

Candidate Requirements

  • Qualified Social Worker with valid HCPC registration
  • Proven experience in children’s social care and safeguarding
  • Strong assessment and report-writing skills
  • Ability to work efficiently within tight deadlines
  • Compassionate approach to working with children and families
