Pay Rate:

• £44.84 per hour umbrella
• £39.35 PAYE (inclusive)
• £35.11 PAYE (exclusive)

Job Overview
Service Care Solutions are recruiting an experienced Social Worker Team Manager to lead a Children with Disabilities (CWD) Team within a Local Authority based in Cheshire. This is a management role requiring strong leadership, safeguarding expertise, and experience working within Children’s Services, particularly with children with additional and complex needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day management and supervision of Social Workers within the Children with Disabilities team
• Ensure high-quality practice across Child in Need, Child Protection, and care planning
• Oversee assessments and decision-making in line with statutory guidance and local procedures
• Support staff through supervision, performance management, and professional development
• Ensure robust safeguarding practice and effective risk management
• Monitor workloads and ensure cases progress within timescales
• Quality-assure assessments, plans, and reports
• Work collaboratively with partner agencies including Health, Education, and other multi-agency professionals
• Attend and contribute to strategy meetings, reviews, and management forums
• Ensure compliance with relevant legislation including the Children Act 1989 & 2004

Essential Requirements

• Qualified Social Worker
• Registered with Social Work England
• Significant post-qualifying experience within Children’s Social Care
• Previous experience as a Team Manager or Senior Practitioner
• Strong knowledge of safeguarding and legislation relating to children with disabilities
• Proven leadership, supervision, and decision-making skills
• Ability to manage complex cases and support staff in a fast-paced environment
• Enhanced DBS (Update Service desirable)
