Service Care Solutions are recruiting on behalf of Lancashire County Council for an experienced Social Worker to join their Children’s Duty and Assessment Team on a temporary ongoing basis.
Job Description As a Social Worker within the Duty and Assessment Team, you will be responsible for responding to referrals, undertaking statutory assessments, and ensuring children and families receive timely and appropriate interventions. You will work in line with legislation, safeguarding frameworks, and local authority policies to promote positive outcomes for children.
Key responsibilities include:

Job Description As a Social Worker within the Duty and Assessment Team, you will be responsible for responding to referrals, undertaking statutory assessments, and ensuring children and families receive timely and appropriate interventions. You will work in line with legislation, safeguarding frameworks, and local authority policies to promote positive outcomes for children.
Key responsibilities include:
- Completing Section 17 and Section 47 assessments
- Managing referrals and progressing cases through duty
- Undertaking safeguarding investigations and risk assessments
- Working collaboratively with partner agencies
- Producing clear, accurate, and timely records and reports
- Participating in duty rotas and statutory visits as required
- A recognised Social Work qualification (Degree / DipSW / CQSW or equivalent)
- Registration with Social Work England
- Experience working within a Children’s Duty and Assessment Team
- Strong knowledge of child protection and safeguarding legislation
- Ability to manage a fast paced caseload
- The right to work in the UK
- Monday to Friday, 9:00am – 5:00pm
- 3?month contract with potential for extension
- On?site/local authority working
