The Role
As Team Manager, you will provide strong leadership, professional supervision and operational management to an experienced team of Social Workers. You will ensure the delivery of safe, effective and high-quality statutory services while driving continuous improvement and supporting positive outcomes for children and young people with disabilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, motivate and professionally supervise an experienced team of Social Workers.
- Promote safeguarding and ensure the best interests of disabled children and young adults remain at the heart of practice.
- Oversee assessments, statutory visits and reviews, ensuring compliance with legislation and statutory timescales.
- Monitor team performance, quality standards and compliance with practice procedures.
- Allocate cases effectively and ensure care plans remain focused, outcome-driven and regularly reviewed.
- Support recruitment, induction and retention of staff across Children's Social Care.
- Mentor Newly Qualified Social Workers (ASYE) and students on placement where appropriate.
- Work collaboratively with internal departments and partner agencies to deliver coordinated services.
- Assist the Group Manager with service development and deputise when required.
- Contribute to budget management and ensure resources are used effectively.
To be considered for this position, you will have:
- Significant experience working with children within a statutory social work setting.
- Experience undertaking direct work with disabled children and young people.
- Previous management experience, including delivering high-quality professional supervision.
- The ability to lead, coach and develop high-performing teams.
- Excellent knowledge of safeguarding legislation, statutory guidance and best practice.
- Strong communication, organisational and partnership-working skills.
- A Social Work qualification and Social Work England registration.
- A full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle.
