Contract: 2 weeks (rolling assignment within a longer 6-month placement, with extension potential)
Location: Orkney Islands
Payrate: To be confirmed on application (daily rate available depending on experience)
Service Care Solutions is seeking an experienced Team Manager Social Work De to lead Adult Social Care/Community Care services for Orkney Islands Council. This is a high-impact leadership role in a unique and supportive setting, helping drive person-centred outcomes, strong governance, and continuous service improvement.
Candidate Responsibilities
As a Team Manager Social Work De, your duties will include:
- Providing strong leadership and day-to-day management to Adult/Community Care teams
- Ensuring high-quality, person-centred service delivery aligned with regulatory standards
- Leading service improvement, innovation, and continuous development
- Managing budgets, workforce planning, and monitoring service performance
- Overseeing risk management, health & safety, and compliance requirements
- Supporting, developing, and engaging staff through effective communication
- Working with senior leadership to deliver service objectives
- Ensuring effective implementation of care plans and multi-agency working

Requirements
To succeed as a Team Manager Social Work De, you should have:
- Relevant qualification (Degree/SVQ4/HND or equivalent) OR be a Registered Professional (Social Worker/Nurse/AHP) with 5+ years’ experience
- Significant management experience in Adult Health, Social Care, or Community Care
- Experience in a complex organisation (Local Authority or NHS preferred)
- Proven ability to manage budgets, risk, and workforce effectively
