For the first time in its history, Service Care Solutions have partnered with The Juice Academy to pave the way for an Apprentice within their Marketing function. A decision that aligns directly with their why statement, to provide a legacy that values all people and creates the opportunity for generations to come.

The Juice Academy, founded in 2013, is a digital marketing programme delivering the brand-new, revamped Level 3 Content Creator Apprenticeship qualification. The academy is the brainchild of Tangerine Communications, which has been in the creative industry for almost 20 years. What makes Juice unique, is that their training is delivered by digital marketing specialists from Tangerine, meaning the course is being delivered and closely alongside the apprenticeship provider, Apprentify, who recently secured an outstanding rating in their first-ever Ofsted inspection.

So, let's introduce you to our new Social Media Guru, Abi Dickson.

Firstly, why did you choose to study through The Juice Academy Abi?

I decided to apply to Juice as I had previously heard many positive reviews of both Tangerine Communications and The Juice Academy. I wanted to gain as much knowledge and experience as possible from the apprenticeship and I believe that through an academy which specifically specializes in the digital world of social media and Marketing, the sky is my limit!

And what have you learnt so far at Juice?

I have learnt about marketing strategies and how the tone of voice is used on platforms. Within this, I was able to recognize the importance of branding, including the message behind a brand and the audience it attracts. Through this, I could then apply the information and key points I learnt to the way I post on socials at Service Care, for example, the formal tone used on my recent Instagram post on ‘Social Awareness’ presenting the caring nature of SCS.

Let's learn more about you outside of Juice...

Which artists regularly feature in your top played?

So my music usually depends on my mood. I love more a chilled vibe, Jorja Smith, Summer Walker, Kehlani, and Ella Mai are a few of my faves! I also enjoy American Rap, the likes of Drake, DBE AND Travis Scott.

And which shows have you recently watched on Netflix?

There are a few series I've enjoyed watching, Squid Game was one I got stuck right into! Emily In Paris is another fave of mine, along with Top Boy, Stay Close and Afterlife. I like a mix of different genres.

If you could describe yourself in 3 words, which would you choose?

I would say I'm confident, honest and ambitious.

Okay, back to Service Care...

What was it about the agency that made you want to join?

I thought that Service Care would be very suited for me, as it meant that I could gain experience more professionally and corporately. Not only this, but it would mean adopting a different view on social media from an industry context, rather than my perspective.

And what does an average day involve?

It sounds cliché but no day is the same! I get involved in so much that I lose track of time every day, it’s as if I’m going through my TikTok for you page! I have started using multiple different software tools for promotions and leaflet creation, I have been let loose to venture into the digital world, there’s so much to learn and it's constantly evolving! I have also created many reels and TikTok's for socials, such as Halloween dress-up, and work social events. Within this, I had a nosey through TikTok and jumped on trending ideas we could take part in; I was surprised how many people got involved, no one is shy here! I have also joined the CSR and events committee, which enables me to take further control in planning events, making my content creation easier.

Lastly, what are you most looking forward to on the course?

I am looking forward to the session on capturing images and campaigns, in the afternoon of this session we are planning to spend a few hours on TikTok, which I know for certain I will enjoy! Not only this, but I think the session based on budgeting and workflow production will be interesting as I can apply this to working at Service Care.
