These are exciting times for Safeguarding Adults in Blackburn with Darwen. We have a new Safeguarding Adults Board in place, committed to achieving the very best outcomes for vulnerable adults in our Borough.

We're working to develop our local structures and processes, with a small, specialist Safeguarding team working alongside our Adult Social Care teams to ensure that the principles of Safeguarding are embedded in all our work.

We're looking for an enthusiastic, qualified Social Worker to manage our dedicated Safeguarding Adult Team.

You will be passionate, hard-working and dedicated to empowering vulnerable adults. We pride ourselves on the support offered to new starters within the Department, and supporting their ongoing employment and development needs. Above all, we're looking for someone with the value base and transferable skills to be an excellent Team Manager.

What is required?

  • SW Degree/Dip SW.
  • Significant post qualified experience.
  • Management Qualification or Equivalent.
  • Extensive experience of managing a team within a Social Care environment.
  • 5 Years Reference.
  • Minimum 2 days a week in the office.
