Job Purpose
- The postholder will act as 'competent person' for fire and asbestos and have specialist technical knowledge relating to fire, asbestos and other H&S matters and regularly update their knowledge by keeping abreast of changes in legislation and advice from the HSE.
- Audits will be undertaken methodically, and clear records kept.
- Mitigating actions will be implemented quickly.
- Service providers will be managed appropriately to ensure quality and VFM.
- Sufficient understanding of CDM regs to alert the Compliance, Health & safety Manager of any potential or actual breach.
- Attending meetings, evenings and weekends as required, with resident groups and to deal with compliance/health & safety incidents that might arise.
Qualifications
- The following or equivalent: UKATA Asbestos Awareness course P405 Management of Asbestos in Buildings, NEBOSH National Certificate in Fire Safety and Risk Management, Scaffold Inspection qualification, Advanced managing working at height training course.
