We are currently seeking an experienced and motivated Band 6 Pharmacist to join the Diagnostics, Cancer and Buckland Care Group at Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother Hospital. This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to a multidisciplinary team delivering high-quality pharmaceutical care across specialist services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide clinical pharmacy services to designated wards and departments within the Diagnostics and Cancer Care pathways.
- Conduct medicines reconciliation and provide expert advice on the safe, effective, and economic use of medicines.
- Support prescribing decisions in collaboration with medical and nursing staff.
- Participate in clinical audits, medication reviews, and formulary development.
- Ensure compliance with local and national guidelines and protocols.
- Contribute to patient safety initiatives and the development of pharmaceutical care plans.
- GPhC registered Pharmacist.
- Previous NHS hospital experience (ideally at Band 6 level or equivalent).
- Strong clinical knowledge, particularly in oncology, diagnostics, or complex care settings.
- Excellent communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary environment.
- Experience in oncology or cancer services is advantageous but not essential.
- Working knowledge of EPMA and other NHS prescribing systems.
- This role offers flexible payment options including LTD and PAYE.
- 6-month initial contract with potential for extension based on service need.
- Full support provided throughout placement, including compliance assistance and prompt payment.
