We are proud to be working in partnership with a leading provider of children’s residential care to recruit an experienced and passionate Registered Manager for a well-established 4-bed EBD (Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties) children’s home based in Hatfield, Herefordshire. This is an exciting opportunity for a confident and committed leader to step into a rewarding role where you can make a genuine and lasting difference in the lives of vulnerable young people.

Role: Children’s Home Manager – Hatfield - Herefordshire
Salary: £55,000 (OTE up to £76,500 in your first year)
Bonus: £5,000 Welcome Bonus + Annual Performance Bonus (21% of your salary)
Commitment Bonus: Additional £5,000 upon 12 months’ completion
Annual Leave: 32 days including Bank Holidays
Type: Full-time, Permanent

The Role: As the Registered Manager, you will be responsible for the overall leadership, development and management of the home, ensuring it delivers high-quality, child-focused care in line with regulatory standards.

Key duties include:
  • Ensuring the home meets and exceeds Ofsted and safeguarding standards
  • Leading and mentoring a team to deliver consistent, therapeutic care
  • Supporting each child’s emotional, behavioural and social development
  • Managing staffing, rota planning, supervision, appraisals, and development
  • Budget management and service planning
  • Acting as the designated safeguarding lead and ensuring safety and compliance
What We’re Looking For:
  • Minimum of 3 years’ senior-level experience in a children’s residential setting
  • Level 3 or 4 Diploma in Children and Young People’s Workforce
  • Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care (Children & Young People) – achieved or working towards
  • Strong understanding of legislation including Children’s Home Regulations and the Children Act 1989
  • Proactive, resilient, and hands-on leadership style
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Willingness to be part of an on-call rota
