Job Description

We are proud to be recruiting on behalf of a well-established and highly regarded provider of residential childcare services, who are seeking a passionate and experienced Registered Manager to lead one of their children’s homes in Sudbury, Suffolk.

This is a 4-bed EBD home, currently supporting 2 young people, and has recently achieved a “Good” rating across the board from Ofsted. The provider is dedicated to offering safe, nurturing, and developmentally focused environments for children and young people with complex needs.

Role: Registered Home Manager – Children’s Residential Care
Salary: up to £48000 to £50000
Bonus: 5k Welcome Bonus + 21% Annual Performance Bonus, On-Call Payments (£30 per night)
Annual Leave: 32 days including Bank Holidays
Type: Full-time, Permanent

🔑 Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the day-to-day running of the home and ensure it operates to the highest standards
  • Deliver high-quality, child-centred care that meets both regulatory requirements and the individual needs of young people
  • Lead on Ofsted inspections and drive service improvement
  • Supervise and develop a committed team, including performance reviews and ongoing training
  • Manage budgets and contribute to the strategic development of the home
  • Work closely with external agencies, families, and professionals
  • Promote safeguarding and well-being at all times
Requirements:
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a senior role within a children’s residential care setting
  • Level 3 or 4 Diploma in Children and Young People’s Workforce
  • Working towards or holding a Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health & Social Care (Children & Young People)
  • Strong knowledge of The Children Act 1989, Children’s Homes Regulations, and safeguarding procedures
  • Experience managing budgets and leading inspections
  • Full UK driving licence and flexibility to participate in the on-call rota
