Role: Criminal Duty Solicitor
Salary: £40,000 to £45,000 (plus overtime with potential earnings between £60,000 to £80,000)
Location: Warwickshire area
Key Responsibilities of the Duty Solicitor role:
- Represent clients at police stations, Magistrates’ Courts and, where appropriate, Crown Courts.
- Attend and manage Criminal Legal Aid Duty Solicitor rota slots.
- Provide accurate and timely legal advice and advocacy to clients.
- Contribute to the growth of the department through your own client following or business development, if applicable.
- A qualified solicitor, barrister or legal executive in England and Wales.
- Current accreditation as a Duty Solicitor (LAA Crime Category 1 Supervisor status desirable but not essential).
- Willingness to work out-of-hours duty slots on a rota basis, including evenings and weekends.
- A supportive and collaborative working environment.
- Regular and consistent duty solicitor rota slots.
- Flexible working arrangements where possible.
