Education Caseworker

I am currently recruiting for an education caseworker to work in central London.

This role is initially for 3 months and requires candidates to have an enhanced DBS.

Purpose of the Job

he post holder will fulfil an important role within the city council and as part of the virtual school team, and be responsible for ensuring that the council fulfils it's statutory responsibilities to promote the educational attainment of children in public care.

As part of the virtual school team, the caseworker will assist professionals in developing, promoting and implementing strategies to improve the educational attainment of children who are in the care of the local authority, In particular, the caseworker will provide support, advice and challenge to social workers, carers and school staff in order to identify barriers to children in care achieving in education and develop strategies to improve their educational attainment. The caseworker will use a high level of technical knowledge in relation to all aspects of education, including special education needs, exclusions and behaviour management.

This role is a hybrid role with some office work and potential visits to schools. A candidate with some experience of working with children's services and understanding of the Virtual School work would desirable. Experience of working in the education system both primary and secondary would be desirable. Full time position.
