Grants Surveyor

Job Description

A client within the Public Sector based in Greater London is currently recruiting for a Grants Surveyor to join their Private Housing Services team as soon as possible. The client is offering a full-time, temporary position on an ongoing basis, with the ideal candidate having experience of working within a local authority within a housing grants and regeneration environment.

The Role
Key purpose of the role is to provide a front-line, customer-focused service delivering housing grants to private sector owner-occupiers and tenants (particularly for disability adaptations), acting as a multi-disciplinary technical lead. The role requires independent working in interpreting and applying housing legislation and delivering grant-funded repairs, adaptations, and improvements.

Key responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
• Providing architectural/surveying services for grant applications from inception to completion
• Carrying out detailed property surveys and preparing plans, specifications, tenders, and contracts
• Liaising with clients, contractors, Occupational Therapists, and other professionals to ensure appropriate technical solutions
• Supervising works, authorising payments, resolving disputes, and ensuring quality standards and legislative compliance
• Representing the council at court or tribunals as required
• Acting as Trusted Assessor to assess occupational needs in the absence of an OT (training provided)

The Candidate
To be considered for this role, you will require:
• A degree or equivalent qualification in Construction, Building Surveying, or a related field
• Experience delivering private sector housing grants, including Disabled Facilities Grants
The below skills would be beneficial for the role:
• Knowledge of current Building Regulations and access standards
• Ability to use AutoCAD to prepare detailed drawings
• Strong communication, planning, and contract management skills

The client is looking to move quickly with this role and as such is offering £30 per hour Umbrella LTD Inside IR35 (approx. £24 per hour PAYE).
