THE ROLE
As a Housing Support Worker, you will play a vital role in engaging with referral agencies and supporting service users to achieve positive outcomes. Key responsibilities include:
- Engage with local authorities, statutory, and voluntary agencies to generate referrals.
- Plan and deliver effective support and safety plans, regularly reviewing and updating progress.
- Ensure properties are well-maintained, furnished, and clean.
- Issue correct tenure and support agreements, ensuring compliance.
- Empower service users to achieve their desired outcomes and actively involve them in decision-making.
- Develop early move-on plans, identifying realistic housing options.
- Support service users with domestic tasks, providing practical assistance where necessary.
THE CANDIDATE
The ideal candidate will have previous experience in a similar role, supporting vulnerable individuals. Additionally, you will have:
- Experience in engaging with referral agencies and local authorities.
- Strong understanding of homelessness prevention and support services.
- Ability to manage and maintain housing properties effectively.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a focus on service user empowerment.
THE CONTRACT
- 35 Hours Per Week, 09:00 to 17:30
- 12 Weeks, Temp to Perm
