Job Description

Job Title: HR Learning and Development Officer

Hours: 37 Hours

Work Pattern: 37 hours per week (Monday - Friday)

Type: 6 months temporary

Location: Leyland, PR25

The Learning & Development Officer will support the HR and OD team though coordination and administration of all learning and development activities. This will include responsibility for programme administration, scheduling of a broad range of learning events, maintaining the Learning Management System, reporting and supporting the provision of management information, managing and liaising with training providers together with processing payments and budget tracking. This position will also play a critical role in supporting the organisation's learning and development plans and enabling a productive learning culture.

Job Role -

Programme Coordination and Support

  • Act as the point of contact for organisational wide learning and development programmes, assisting with any trainer/delegate enquiries as they arise as well as preparation of training materials, room bookings, invites and any special requirements.
  • Raise Purchase Orders and ensure that invoices are processed in a timely manner
  • Accurately record and monitor budget expenditure in respect of learning and development undertaken
  • Purchase and maintain learning and development materials and job aids as appropriate
  • Ensure that learning materials such as step by step guides and Intranet information is current, clear and has consistent messages
  • Market available learning and development opportunities and send notifications of programs to appropriate colleagues in order to ensure maximum participation
  • Evaluate learning and development programmes, suggesting amendments and revisions as necessary, in order to adapt to changes occurring in the work environment
  • Work with HR colleagues to understand development needs that link with the organisation and
  • In support of Learning and Development initiatives, undertake research of external providers including course content details and full costings
  • Maintain Apprenticeship Levy information for reporting purposes
  • Produce and publish learning and development communications on the Intranet

Learning Management System development and maintenance

  • Assist in the coordination of the Group's mandatory learning programmes
  • Ensure that all training material content is up to date and accurate and training records are accurately maintained on the Group's Learning Management System (LMS)
  • Assist with the design and creation of learning content including Seminars, (face to face) and eLearning

Candidate Requirements -

  • Experience of learning and development techniques with particular reference to self-service and online learning
  • Experience and understanding of learning management systems and the ability to administer the system for others to access both e-learning and seminar training
  • Experience in supporting queries related to learning management systems
  • Experience using standard authoring tools to create eLearning content
