Insurance and Claims Officer

Job Description

Service Care Solutions are working alongside a Leicester City Council who are looking to recruit a skilled Insurance Officer on a temporary contract.

💼Role: Insurance Officer
📍Location: Leicester
📈Working: Hybrid (2days per week following training period)
💵Rate: £14.62 to £15.85 per hour (PAYE exc.) / £16.10 to £17.52 per hour (umbrella/ltd)
🏢Contract: 3 months on going (potential to become permanent)

Role Overview:
  • Manages and progresses a caseload of insurance claims made against the council, ensuring accurate and timely record-keeping.
  • Investigates claims thoroughly to assess legitimacy and detect potential fraud, taking appropriate action where necessary.
  • Determines liability through detailed analysis of incident reports, supporting evidence, and legal frameworks.
  • Collaborates closely with relevant council departments to gather information, assess risk exposure, and ensure coordinated case handling.
  • Engages with claimants, legal representatives, and third parties through meetings and interviews to negotiate settlements and resolve claims efficiently.
  • Prepares and recommends cases for legal challenge when appropriate, including those involving injury compensation or significant liability.
  • Commissions and liaises with external Loss Adjusters to assess complex or high-value claims.
  • Identifies trends and risk areas, proposing preventive measures and procedural improvements to reduce incident frequency and enhance operational effectiveness.
  • Organizes and conducts site visits to inspect incident locations and gain a comprehensive understanding of the circumstances involved.
  • Performs a range of additional administrative and investigative tasks aligned with the objectives of the role.
