Are you an experienced child protection professional with strong safeguarding expertise? Haringey Council is looking for a qualified Social Worker to take on the vital statutory role of LADO (Local Authority Designated Officer).
This is a busy, challenging, and rewarding role, offering a fantastic opportunity for a confident and knowledgeable safeguarding manager/practitioner to make a real impact on protecting children across the education sector.
🔹 About the Role: As the LADO, you will:
- Coordinate and manage allegations of harm or abuse made against professionals and those in positions of trust, primarily within education.
- Lead and manage complex multi-agency responses to concerns raised.
- Provide advice and guidance to employers and voluntary organisations.
- Ensure procedures are followed in line with statutory guidance, including Working Together to Safeguard Children and Keeping Children Safe in Education.
- Qualified Social Worker with current Social Work England registration
- Significant management experience in safeguarding and child protection
- In-depth understanding of child protection legislation and statutory guidance
- Familiarity with Keeping Children Safe in Education and related school safeguarding frameworks
- Excellent communication, organisational, and leadership skills
- Confident in working with professionals at all levels and managing sensitive investigations
- Competitive rate: £42/hour (Umbrella MAX) incluive of holiday pay or 32.05 PAYE eclusive of holiday pay
