M&E Manager

A Housing client based in the West Midlands is currently recruiting for an M&E Manager to join their team as soon as possible.

This is a full time, temporary position on an ongoing basis with the ideal candidate having experience of working a Housing Sector.


The client is currently working towards ensuring that we have systems in place to meet the requirements of the Building Safety Act 2022 and we are looking for someone who can support the team and the manager, actively contribute to this task, and bring expert knowledge and experience of Mechanical and Electrical Services.

In addition to this work, the post will also be responsible for a team who contract manage M&E services, inspections and repairs delivered by our partner contractor.

Summary of main duties:

  • Management responsibility for team who contract manages M&E Services via a contractor partner;

  • To lead on developing and delivering compliant building safety cases for a designated number of high risk buildings (M&E)

  • To interpret the regulatory framework to ensure buildings are designed and equipped with appropriate safety systems for designated areas of building safety compliance such as Gas, Electrical Safety and Biomass;

  • Provide specialist professional and technical advice to effectively coach and mentor to improve knowledge and understanding of building safety;

  • To deliver a high-quality customer focused building safety service including robust management of any external contractors and partners engaged in its delivery;

  • To deliver on allocated safety project workstreams within the capital programme including delivery of agreed spend profile, CDM and Building Safety Regulations including the robust management of external contractors and partners engaged in its delivery;

  • Apply the key principles of good governance and risk management to ensure building and resident safety;

  • Provide effective communication to efficiently deliver building safety projects, engage residents and maintain accurate information systems that support the proactive delivery of building safety;

  • Ensure that remedial works to buildings, necessary to meet statutory building safety requirements, are co-ordinated and delivered appropriately; and

  • To take management responsibility for ensuring health and safety within asset management is a strategic and operational priority at all times and that best practice is observed and monitored robustly.

The client is looking to move quickly with this role and as such are offering £300 per day Umbrella LTD Inside IR35.
