Job Title: NEC Housing Applications Specialist
Location: Southwark, SE1 (Office based)
Contract Type: ongoing temporary
Weekly Hours: full time - Monday - Friday. 5 days per week
Start Date: ASAP

Day Rate: Negotiable



Position Overview: As an NEC Housing Applications Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in providing expert technical knowledge and support for the NEC-Housing system. Your responsibilities will include managing incidents, service requests, and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Technical Expertise:
    • Provide expert technical knowledge to drive positive changes in the NEC-Housing housing system.
    • Possess strong PL/SQL skills for efficient data management and application enhancement.
  2. Incident Management:
    • Daily management of incidents and service requests using the Cherwell ticketing system.
    • Prioritize and manage backlog of incidents and service requests effectively.
  3. Financial Processes:
    • Handle Service Charges Final Account processes.
    • Hands-on experience with year-end processes for rents and service charge estimates.
  4. Communication Suites Upgrade:
    • Convert the current DTI to NEC Communication Suites for improved functionality.
  5. Continuous Improvement:
    • Actively contribute to the continuous improvement of NEC-Housing processes and systems.
  6. Job Scheduling and Execution:
    • Schedule and run jobs efficiently to ensure optimal system performance.
  7. Weekend Maintenance:
    • Perform weekend maintenance of the NEC-Housing application when necessary.
  8. Project Support:
    • Facilitate the implementation of technical solutions for all project work related to NEC-Housing application.
    • Design solutions for NEC-Housing functionality.
  9. Consultancy and Collaboration:
    • Provide specialist consultancy to internal and external stakeholders on day-to-day issues and projects.
    • Collaborate on application upgrades and new functionality implementations.
  10. Agile Approach:
    • Embrace an agile approach to work, demonstrating adaptability and a self-starting attitude.


Qualifications and Skills:

  • Proven experience in NEC-Housing or equivalent housing systems.
  • Strong PL/SQL skills.
  • Experience in incident management using ticketing systems, preferably Cherwell.
  • Hands-on experience with financial processes, including Service Charges Final Account.
  • Familiarity with year-end processes for rents and service charge estimates.
  • Expertise in communication suites conversion.
  • Continuous improvement mindset.
  • Ability to schedule and run jobs efficiently.
  • Availability for weekend maintenance when required.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
