Service Care Legal are currently recruiting on behalf of a local authority in Essex who are seeking a part-time Planning Lawyer to join their team on a contract basis. Please find below further details with regards to this position.

ROLE: Planning Lawyer (part-time)
LOCATION: Essex
RATE: £40.00 to £50.00 per hour
CONTRACT: 3 months (with possibility of extension)

Please note that this position would be remote working.

The Role of the Planning Lawyer

• To manage a caseload of Planning Law and Highways matters through to completion
• Drafting and negotiating planning agreements under section 106 of the Town and Country Planning Act 1990
• Drafting and negotiating highway agreements under section 278 of the Highways Act 1980
• Advising on planning matters and dealing with planning enforcement

The Person

• A qualified Solicitor or Legal Executive with a current practising certificate
• Previous local authority working experience would be highly desirable for this position
• Comfortable in progressing full caseloads through to completion with minimal supervision
