Service Care Legal are recruiting on behalf of a London Borough Council who are seeking a Prosecutions Lawyer to join them on a contract basis. Please find below further details with regards to this position.
ROLE: Prosecutions Lawyer
LOCATION: South London
RATE: £40.00 to £50.00 per hour umbrella
CONTRACT: Initial 3 months with potential for extension
Please note that this role would be a hybrid working position.
The Role of the Prosecutions Lawyer
- To assist the Senior Prosecutions Lawyer in progressing full caseloads of Prosecutions and Enforcement work to completion
- The caseload will be a mixture of Criminal Litigation work including licensing matters
- Matters will consist of the Housing Act 2004, Environmental Protection Act 1990, and other Regulatory cases, enforcement and environmental health work and advocacy at court
The Person
- A qualified Solicitor, Legal Executive or Barrister with a minimum of 2 years' PQE
- Recent experience of working in a similar position within a local government (or public sector) environment would be required
- Experience of dealing with the Licensing Act 2003 would be essential for this role
