A client within the Public Sector based in Kent is currently recruiting for a Repairs Inspector to join their Responsive Repairs team as soon as possible. The client is offering a full time, temporary position on an ongoing basis with the ideal candidate having experience of working within a local authority within a housing maintenance environment.
The Role
Key purpose of the role is to provide a high-quality surveying service across responsive repairs and void property maintenance, ensuring works are carried out to the required standard, delivered compliantly and in line with current legislation.
Key responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
• Undertake pre- and post-inspections for day-to-day responsive repairs and voids
• Liaise with contractors to ensure effective service delivery and high-quality work
• Monitor compliance across various statutory areas including gas, fire, asbestos, and water safety
The Candidate
To be considered for this role you will require:
• HNC/HND in Building Studies or equivalent trade experience
• Strong working knowledge of responsive repairs, building pathology, and CDM regulations
• Valid UK driving licence and ability to work across properties
The below skills would be beneficial for the role:
• Experience working within a housing association or local authority
• Understanding of SOR (Schedule of Rates) and experience managing contractors
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with tenants and stakeholders
The client is looking to move quickly with this role and as such are offering £20 per hour Umbrella LTD Inside IR35 (approx. £17 per hour PAYE).
