Repairs Officer

A client within the Public Sector based in Northamptonshire is currently recruiting for a Repairs Officer to join their Property Services team as soon as possible. The client is offering a full-time, temporary position on an ongoing basis with the ideal candidate having experience of working within a local authority within a housing repairs or maintenance environment.

The Role
Key purpose of the role is to manage and coordinate responsive repairs and maintenance works across the council’s housing stock, ensuring high-quality, compliant, and cost-effective service delivery while maintaining the safety and wellbeing of residents and staff.

Key responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
• Overseeing day-to-day housing repairs and maintenance tasks, including contractor supervision.
• Ensuring repairs comply with current housing regulations, health & safety legislation, and CDM 2015 requirements.
• Investigating complaints, analysing data, and resolving complex issues independently.
• Managing budgets and identifying opportunities for cost control and savings.
• Collaborating with stakeholders, contractors, and internal teams to deliver excellent customer service.

The Candidate
To be considered for this role you will require:
• Strong knowledge of housing repairs and maintenance, including social housing legislation.
• Experience of managing construction projects and coordinating works.
• Experience in complaint handling, analysis, and service improvement.
The below skills would be beneficial for the role:
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with experience managing stakeholder relationships.
• Knowledge of CDM 2015, health and safety regulations, and property compliance.
• Time management, attention to detail, and ability to work under pressure.
• Previous experience working for a Local Authority or Housing Association.

The client is looking to move quickly with this role and as such are offering £30 per hour Umbrella LTD Inside IR35 (approx. £23 per hour PAYE).
